    Kids Give Constitution B-Plus, But….

POLITICIANS, PRESS AND SCHOOLS FAIL TO PROTECT CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS SAY 9TH–12TH GRADERS IN NATIONAL CONSTITUTION CENTER STUDY

Ben Franklin, James Madison and the other Framers can rest easy. They did a good job with the Constitution. Indeed, the overwhelming majority of high school students around the country give the 216-year-old document, which serves as the foundation of American democracy, either an A or B grade, according to a survey by National Constitution Center.

The study, conducted for the NCC by the noted research firm StrategyOne, consisted of a 512-respondent, nationally distributed telephone survey of high school students in ninth through 12th grades. Approximately 125 students in each grade were interviewed. Gender was evenly split: 49 percent male and 51 percent female. The margin of error is plus/minus 4.3 percent.
