    Meeting Standards During Your Visit

    A visit to the National Constitution Center can meet several national, state, and local education standards. The class visit and activities guide provides pre and post visit lesson plans as well as on-site activities that meet the specific national standards below. Be sure to prep your students with in-class activities and plan on-site assignments to help your students gain the most out of their visit.

    NATIONAL STANDARDS FOR CIVICS AND GOVERNMENT

    Grades K-4

    • Standard III A: What is the United States Constitution and why is it important?
      The United States Constitution is a written set of laws that states the basic purposes of government are protecting the rights of individuals and promoting the common good.

    Grades 5-12

    • Standard II: What are the foundations of the American political system?
    • Standard II A: What is the American idea of constitutional government?
